Fiber Etch gel dissolves cellulose (eg cotton or viscose fibres) to enable you to create special effects such as Devoré and cutwork. It can be screen printed with, stenciled, brushed or applied straight from the applicator bottle using a screw on nib.
On silk velvet and satin, where the pile is made of viscose and the base net is silk, Fibre Etch will remove or sculpt the pile, creating a Devoré fabric which can then be dyed in one dye pot using Alter Ego dyes.
If it is to be used for cutwork, areas need to be edged with stitches using 100% polyester thread.
Fibre Etch can also be used to create woodburned effects on wood and paper, sculpting into the surface.
Contains Sodium Bisulphite so avoid contact with skin and eyes.
