Dye-na-flow is a free flowing concentrated liquid colour for fabrics and other surfaces.Â
Dye-Na-Flow fabric paints cover, flow and blend, simulating a true dye on all untreated fabrics and leaving the fabric with a soft feel. The paint can be used for silk painting and watercolour techniques, and can be applied with an airbrush for batik and tie-dye. It is popular for making costumes for theatre and film, and Cosplay. To ensure colourfastness in both washing and dry cleaning, allow to dry on fabric, then iron-set on reverse for 3 minutes. If the heat setting isn’t practical for your project, the Dye-na-flow paint can also be set with Jacquard Airfix.
Jacquard Dye-na-flow paints can also be used for sun printing. Dampen your fabric with water, paint over it with the Dye-na-flow and lay stencils over the piece before it dries out. Lay the painted, damp fabric out in the sun and the areas covered with the stencil will magically ‘bleach’ out to leave an image.
Not just for fabric – use Jacquard Dye-na-flow to paint on:
- natural fabrics including cotton, silk, wool, linen and viscose
- paper and board
- canvas
- leather
- suede
- wood (use as a wood stain on untreated wood)
- some synthetics but NOT non-porous surfaces
