Kathe Todd-Hooker Books

Kathe Todd-Hooker Books - "So Warped"Thank you Kathe for posting the following about her book “So Warped” in the Tapestry2005 yahoo group:

“My books have been available in Europe through Amazon and Fine Fiber Press for years, but because they were sent by US Mail it sometimes doubled or almost doubled the cost of the books. That problems is now solved because www.georgeweil.com GEORGE WEIL & SONS LTD – Fine Fiber Press and Between & ETC. are now carrying the books. So am suggesting that if you are in the UK and want to purchase my books and have found the shipping and handling prohibitively expensive there is now a solution. We were just getting ready to announce this on our new webpages that are being designed, but aren’t quite ready. But,…because of so many inquires about the books in the UK and Europe… Anyway Thank you all, kathe”

Other Kathe Todd-Hooker Books

In addition to “So Warped” (which was also partly written and illustrated by Pat Spark) other Kathe Todd-Hooker books available from the George Weil Book Shop include “Line in Tapestry”, “Shaped Tapestry” and “Tapestry 101”. These books on tapestry techniques are illustrated with line drawings and photographs throughout and include clear and precise step-by-step instructions. As the pages are ring-bound, it is easy to flip through the book and lay it flat for easy reference.

Although titled “So Warped – Warping a Loom for Weaving Tapestry” the book also includes a useful section on how to warp up a more complicated floor weaving loom. If you are learning about this process, the book will be a very useful resource as it includes instruction on making a warp chain, spreading the warp using a raddle and attaching it to the loom, winding the warp onto the beam, threading the warp ends through the heddle, and tips on sleying (threading up) the reed.
