A water soluble, non-flammable, and non-toxic orange smelling formulation for cleaning dried acrylic paint from brushes and other surfaces. Zest-it Acrylic Brush cleaner does not contain Aromatics or CFC’s, and is low in Volatile Organic Compounds, making it kinder to the environment than most other brush cleaners.
To clean or reclaim your brush, pour enough to cover the bristles/hairs into a separate jar (as the cleaning fluid is reusable, choose a jar with a lid). Wet the brush end around in the liquid, and press against the side of the jar to remove excess liquid. Remove the brush and wipe with paper towel. Repeat this process until all the paint has been removed and the hair has regained its suppleness.
If the dried on acrylic does not respond to the cleaner, soak it for up to 5 minutes. As long as the product on the brush is a water based acrylic it should be removeable.
After cleaning the brush, wash it with soap and water and allow to dry.
The citrus oil in Zest-it Acrylic Brush Cleaner will help to condition the hairs and prolong the life of your brushes.
It will also remove Acrylic based products from hard surfaces (wipe the handle of your brush!) and from paper and canvas. If used in this way, wipe the cleaned surface with a water damp cloth.
The brush cleaner can also be used to clear up acrylic that has hardened on other surfaces such as work tops, paper and canvas. Dip a cotton cloth into the solution and dab until the acrylic paint has softened and then wipe away. Remove remaining cleaner with a wet cloth.
Precautions: Wash hands in soap and water after use. Wear Nitrile gloves if skin is sensitive and eye protection if splashes are likely to occur. Ensure all containers containing Zest-it Acrylic Brush Cleaner are labelled and stored out of the reach of children.
