Art Clay Silver Clays
A magical medium consisting of finely ground pure silver mixed with non-toxic binders and water. The excellent sculpting properties of this off-white, malleable clay means it can be worked into unique and personalised jewellery or ornaments, and once fired, the binders burn away leaving pure, 99.9% silver which can be hallmarked ‘.999’ at any UK Assay Office.
The clay is fired on a gas stove, with a torch or in a kiln for 30 minutes at 650°C or 5 minutes at 800°C (see our blog post Firing Art Clay Silver Clay for further information) to become pure silver.
Sizes: 7g, 10g, 20g and 50g.
Art Clay Silver Syringe Type
Art Clay Silver packaged in a syringe to enable delicate extruded filigree designs and raised decoration on Art Clay silver clay. It can also be used to fill cracks or small gaps. The consistency of Art Clay Silver Syringe Type is slightly harder than the Paste Type, allowing more control and workability. It is comprised of 88% recycled silver and 12% binder and water with a silver purity of over 99.96% after firing. When the binders burn away, the silver clay item will shrink by approximately 8-9% (in length).Â
Art Clay Silver Syringe Type has a firing temperature of 650°C up to 800°C and can be fired using a gas hob, blow torch or kiln; kiln only if using a core such as cork clay.

Art Clay Silver Paste
The slip version of the new formula Art Clay Silver clay. Containing recycled silver, Art Clay Silver paste has a firing temperature of 650°C up to 800°C and is used to mend cracks in unfired metal clay pieces, add texture, attach findings to the dried clay before firing and to join unfired pieces together. It can also be used to coat organic shapes such as leaves; the organic material burns away leaving the fine detail captured in silver.
Art Clay Silver Paste can be fired using a gas hob, blow torch or kiln methods, kiln only if using a core such as cork clay.
