Superior fibres for feltmakers, the super soft Merino dyed wool tops, plus natural, and can be blended further to increase the palette. The hand-dyed, curly Wensleydale wool is ideal for adding texture and interest to hand felted items, and the variegated Merino Wool and Tussah Silk Blend add luxury.
The wool tops, which are sometimes referred to as roving, are ideal for felt making as the fibre felts readily with not too much effort. Spinners will also enjoy the choice of Merino Wool colours available to them, extending the palette still further by blending with other wool fibres using a drum carder or hand carders. The felt can be made either using the wet felting method or the wool fibres can be worked together with a felting needle. The felting needle has barbs along its length which grab the fibre and push it make into the fibre mass. This process can be used to create needle felted animals, faces, dolls and embellishments for jeweller.
