Continue reading...The wool tops, which are sometimes referred to as roving, are ideal for felt making as the fibre felts readily with not too much effort. The felt can be made either using the wet felting method or the wool tops can be worked together with a felting needle. The felting needle has barbs along its length which grab the fibre and push it back into the fibre mass. This process can be used to create needle felted animals, faces, dolls and embellishments for jewellery.
We include a large number of posts in our Blog about how to make felt and felt making techniques and also include a post which examines wool fibre under the microscope!
