    An introductory screen printing kit for learning how to screen print images onto fabric. Instead of ready-mixed inks, this kit contains 3 different colours of Selectasine ECO Pigments and 1kg of Selectasine SF20 Solvent-free binder so that you can mix your own ink colours.

    Selectasine binders are well established and highly proven for screen printing on fabric. The printing system is simple, economic and flexible in use. When combined with Selectasine pigments (at a rate of 5-6g to 100g of binder), the Selectasine binder produces a soft finish with outstanding fastness.

    Your kit contains:

    • 50g each of Selectasine ECO Pigments Lemon Yellow, Pillar Box Red, and Ultramarine Blue
    • 1kg Selectasine SF20 Solvent-free Binder
    • 43T Mesh Screen Printing Frame (measurements are 252 x 342mm with a printing area of 205 x 295mm)
    • 225mm wide Squeegee
    • 100cm x 150cm White Cotton Fabric
    • 5 x Pre-cut Stencils
    • 50mm x 50m roll Masking Tape
    • Illustrated step-by-step instructions.

    We have included a higher ratio of pigment to binder in this kit to allow for experimentation. There are additional binders available from the website which are formulated to give different finishes and effects. These include puff, pearlescent, opaque (for dark coloured fabrics) and metallic (for fine metallic powders).

    What is Screen Printing? Screen printing allows you to duplicate an image many times using a stencil and a printing frame. The frame has a fine mesh fabric stretched across it. This allows the ink to penetrate through to the surface below. Ink will not pass through the areas where the stencil has been placed.

    The ink is pulled across the frame using a squeegee to ensure the ink is evenly distributed whilst the areas of fabric masked by the stencil remain untouched. When the print has dried, additional applications can be made. Use different stencils or ink colours to develop your printed image of more than one colour.
