Create raised lines on glass, ceramics and other smooth surfaces to encapsulate glass paints and other transparent craft paints. Deka Contour Paste outliners have a fine tip for precision application; the paste does not run and forms a stable, slightly flexible line.
The raised lines serve as barriers to keep glass paints (such as Deka Transparent and Deka Color Cristal) within specific areas, preventing them from running together.
Use Deka Contour Paste to create relief-like, stained glass designs on window decorations, glass jars, lanterns and decorative glass, acrylic glass, foils, mirrors and much more.
This water based formula dries hard and is water-resistant. Ensure surfaces to be painted are completely dry and thoroughly cleaned of dust and fingerprints. Detergents may leave a residue, wiping over with White spirit will help remove this and any remaining grease or dirt. Heat hardening with improve adhesion, allow to dry for at least 3 days before heat hardening at 100-120°C for half an hour (or per the instructions of the glass paint used).
The outline of the images on the glass bowl were first drawn with Deka Contour Paste outliner before they were painted with glass paint. Design and glass painting by Maisie Parker.
