Soy Wax Flakes – 500g

Soy wax is an alternative to petroleum oil based waxes and is derived from soybeans. It is used as a resist for painted fabrics to create a Batik effect. The wax is not waterproof and therefore not generally recommended for immersion techniques but useful in classrooms and workshops where ventilation or dry cleaning are not practical. The soy wax melts at a lower melting point than the petroleum based Batik waxes and washes off tools and out of fabrics easily with hot water and detergent.
