An introduction to dyeing cotton, viscose and other celloluse fibres with Procion MX dyes. The Fibrecrafts Fibre Reactive Dye Kit contains everything you need to discover the chemistry of dyeing these fibres.
Fibre Reactive Dyes, which are also known as Procion MX dyes, and are most effective on cotton, linen and viscose but can also be used on silk. As they are a cold water dye, they will not melt the wax when used for Batik and other resist techniques. The kit contains sufficient yellow, red, blue and black dye for up to 3kg fibres, yarns or fabrics and you can experiment by mixing the colours to achieve purples, greens and oranges. Included is 200g of Soda Ash to set the dye, 4 x 10ml syringes, a 100ml measuring beaker, a stirrer and full instructions.
The Fibrecrafts Dye Kits have been tried and tested for over 30 years and are amongst the most popular products sold by George Weil.
