An introduction to dyeing with Indigo dyes. The Indigo Dye Kit contains 25g Synthetic Indigo, Thiourea Dioxide, Soda Ash, a stock solution mixing bottle, stirring rod and detailed instructions. Adequate to dye up to 2kg fibres, yarns or fabrics. Synthetic indigo requires the same dyeing process as natural indigo and produces identical results; the only difference being reflected in the lower price.
Indigo dye is suitable for all natural fibres including wool, silk, cotton, viscose, linen and hemp. The technique can be used to produce Indigo Blue for Batik and Shibori on cotton or silk, to dye yarns for knitting and weaving and fibres for hand spinning and felt making.
The Fibrecrafts Dye Kits have been tried and tested for over 30 years and are amongst the most popular products sold by George Weil.
