Unusual ‘fingers’ of silk fibre hand dyed in a combination of colours using Acid dyes. Each bag contains 10g of dyed silk carrier rods.
Silk Carrier Rods are a by-product of silk yarn spinning. These split tubes of silk waste product are created during the unwinding of the cocoon. The rods can be gently teased apart to show an interesting criss-cross weave of fibres which can be used to great effect in silk papermaking. Use the Silk Carrier Rods in embroidery, silk paper making, jewellery making and felting.
Rods are approximately 4–6 inches (10–15cm) long where unbroken.
