Hand-dyed mulberry silk tops in a rich range of variegated shades. This lovely soft fibre can be used for silk papermaking or carded with other fibres for spinning into a delightful yarn. The vibrant colours are produced from Acid dyes. The fabric dye is formulated specifically for protein fibres and gives the best results on silk, wool and hair. Don’t be put off by the word “acid”, this refers to the acetic acid (vinegar!) used to set the dye.
The silk fibre is hand-dyed here at George Weil and every effort is made to reproduce the same colourways with each batch. Our image shows a batch of Hand-dyed mulberry silk tops which is divided up into neat little bags of 10g.
