A transfer book of Imitation Gold Leaf pressed onto a backing sheet of thin acid free grease proof paper. This gives the metal leaf, which is also known as Schlag, a little more weight and stability so that it is easier to handle. When the metal leaf comes into contact with a surface prepared with adhesive, it comes away from its paper backing.
