An extensive choice of water soluble pencils and pastel crayons to compliment the range of water colour paints. Watercolour pencils and pastels can be used in a number of ways. They can be applied dry to create the drawing which is then painted over with a wet brush (watered brushes are ideal for this as they have a water container in the handle which keeps the brush wet) or colour can be taken from the end of the pencil or pastel with a wet brush, just as you would with a watercolour pan. The pencil or pastel can be dipped in water and then applied, or shavings and dust can be sprayed with water mist to make them dissolve in situ. The colours can be built up in layers to create blends which dissolve when the water is applied. The water soluble pastel crayons and pencils can also be used in conjunction with water resistant pencils and crayons for further effects.Continue reading...

The subtle colour changes to a rich, vibrant colour when water is applied.
