A set of 5 x 100ml tubes of block printing inks for fabric. The Essdee Fabric Block Printing inks can be heat set with an iron (non-steam setting) to make prints washable up to 40°C – perfect for printing onto finely woven fabrics such as cotton, viscose and linen.
These viscous, water-based inks are available in 5 intermixable colours: Black, Blue, Red, White & Yellow. Blend yellow and blue together to achieve shades of green, or red and yellow to produce a zesty orange. Clean-up with soap and water.
How to use Essdee Fabric Block Printing inks:
- Create a printing block; draw a design onto a lino printing block and remove the excess lino with a lino cutter.
- Iron the fabric / t-shirt before printing. If printing a t-shirt, place a sheet of cardboard inside it so that the ink does not soak through to the back of the shirt.
- Spoon a small amount of the Essdee ink onto an ink tray or level plate.
- You need a thin layer of ink on the brayer ink roller. Roll it in the ink until it makes a tacky sound and is correctly coated.
- Apply the ink to a carved printing block with the inked brayer.
- Press the printing block onto the fabric.
- Allow to dry and heat set with an iron on the reverse of the print.
- Clean-up with soap and water.
