The finely woven finish of these undyed white silk scarves provides a good base for silk painting and transmits light well when silk dyes are used. Paint with Deka Silk paint or Jacquard Dye-na-flow paints, or use H Dupont Classique silk dyes for the best results. This silk scarf can be used for Batik, Shibori tie dyeing and other resist dyeing techniques with most dyes. It is particularly beautiful for use in Botanical Eco printing.
The silk is slightly heaver than Pongee and therefore more opaque. These quality silk scarves have hand rolled and hemmed edges.

Pronounced “mom-ee”, a momme (mm) is a traditional East Asian unit used to measure the weight of silk fabric. One momme is equivalent to approximately 4.34g per square metre (gsm). The higher the momme, the heavier, more durable and generally less translucent the fabric becomes.
