Pongee is a finely woven, translucent silk fabric. Use this silk scarf for tie dyeing, batik, silk painting or printing techniques. It can be dyed or painted using Acid dyes, H Dupont Classique Steam fix dyes and Procion MX dyes and takes colour extremely well from natural dyes and indigo. It can also be painted with either Deka Silk paints or Jacquard Dye-na-flow paints. Botanical prints are particularly beautiful when made on this lightweight silk.

*What is a Momme (mm)?
Pronounced “mom-ee”, a momme (mm) is a traditional East Asian unit used to measure the weight of silk fabric. One momme is equivalent to approximately 4.34g per square metre (gsm). The higher the momme, the heavier, more durable and generally less translucent the fabric becomes.
