Marbling is a simple and attractive method for decorating and personalising items in the home.
A tray is prepared containing a solution of size. This is made using a marbling medium often made with carrageenan or methyl cellulose. The marbling paint is dropped onto the surface of the size and manipulated using a comb, cocktail sticks etc. Additional colours can be added to the pattern. The marbling paint floats on the surface of the marbling solution. The item to be marbled is then carefully lowered onto the film of marbling paint which lifts off and is transferred to the object.
Use Deka Marble Medium as the carrier for Deka Marble paints. The marbling paint can be used on fabrics, paper, wood and other surfaces and will remain permanent on fabric once heat set. See our Blog post Marbling on Fabric & Paper for further information.
