500g pots of concentrated pigment in dispersion for making screen printing inks, a range of paints, and also to colour pulp in papermaking. These larger quantities of pigment are an economical option for classrooms or workshops for mixing colours for screen printing.
The flexibility of the system allows for these water based pigments to be intermixed to a complete spectrum of colours plus different effects depending on which Selectasine Screen Printing Binder is used. The binders include SF20 solvent free binder for standard ink colours, opaque binder for dark fabrics and surfaces, a pearlescent binder for shimmering effects or a puff binder for textured screen prints.
The pigment particles are dispersed in an aqueous solution making them easy to blend with your chosen binder; this also helps to prevent clumping. Use up to 6% pigment to screen printing binder to make prints permanent on fabric and paper. Viscosity can be increased by adding a small amount of Selectasine Concentrated Print Paste Thickener.
Heat set at 165°C for 5-6 minutes to make the prints wash fast; this can be achieved by ironing on the reverse of fabric. Setting time can be reduced to as little as one minute by combining 20g per kg of Selectasine Crosslinker Ink Cure to ink solution.
Store in an airtight container in a cool place above 5°C and below 25°C. Wash off screens using water and mild detergent.
The formulations are manufactured with ecologically responsible care and are therefore APEO (Alkylphenol ethoxylates) and Ethylenglycol free. Many of the colours meet the requirements of OEKO-TEX, and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard). The pigments meet the EU, German and US requirements for limiting PCB and Dioxin/Furan trace contaminations, as well as meeting the ETAD requirements for limiting heavy metal, trace contamination.
Please note: Due to their chemical composition it is not possible for Lemon Yellow and Green to be GOTS compliant. Turquoise Blue is a non-ECO pigment but offered within this group for colour choice.
