Selectasine Opaque Binder is used with Selectasine coloured and fluorescent pigments to make screen printing inks for printing onto dark coloured fabrics. Choose from 1kg and 5kg sizes for home use, workshops, studios and classrooms. The binder produces a screen printing ink that retains the Selectasine ECO pigment colour without turning the colour into a pastel shade.
The freedom of the Selectasine Screen Printing System means that screen printing inks can be mixed to any colour using just a small amount of the Selectasine Eco Pigment and a screen printing binder. Use up to 6% pigment to binder to create the emulsion which can be thickened by adding a small amount of Selectasine Concentrated Printing Ink Thickener if required.
Screen printing inks made from Selectasine Opaque Binder are wash-fast once heat set. After drying, heat set at 165°C (330°F) for 4–5 minutes. This can be achieved by ironing on the reverse of the fabric. Adding Selectasine Crosslinker reduces curing time to approximately 1 minute. When using a heat press, curing can be completed in just a few seconds.
Do not allow ink to dry in the screen for longer than necessary, as this may make cleaning more difficult. The water-based formula can be easily washed from screens using water and a mild detergent.
Shelf life is approximately 12 months from the date of purchase. Store in an airtight container in a cool environment between 5°C and 25°C. As some Selectasine products are sensitive to frost, always store above 5°C.
