A water-based opaque binder loaded with white pigment, ideal for printing bright white designs onto dark-coloured fabrics. Opaque White Screen Printing Ink provides excellent coverage and can be reduced with Binder SF20 by up to 40% without significant loss of opacity.
Standard colours can be added in small quantities to create soft, milky or pastel shades.
Tip: When printing white onto black or very dark fabrics, it’s important to balance opacity with a soft handle. Overly thick application can result in a “caked-on” feel. For best results, gradually thin the ink with SF20 Binder and carry out test prints until the desired finish is achieved.
If a thicker consistency is required, a small amount of Selectasine Concentrated Print Paste Thickener can be added to increase viscosity.
This Opaque White Screen Printing Ink is wash-fast once heat set. After drying, heat set at 165°C (330°F) for 4–5 minutes. This can be achieved by ironing on the reverse of the fabric. Adding Selectasine Crosslinker reduces curing time to approximately 1 minute. When using a heat press, curing can be completed in just a few seconds.
Do not allow ink to dry in the screen for longer than necessary, as this may make cleaning more difficult. The water-based formula can be easily washed from screens using water and a mild detergent.
Shelf life is approximately 12 months from the date of purchase. Store in an airtight container in a cool environment between 5°C and 25°C. As some Selectasine products are sensitive to frost, always store above 5°C.
