Silver coloured aluminium powder for screen printing and other craft applications. Don’t be misled by our photographs; the screen printing ink made using this powder is a very effective shimmering silver.
The fine particles of aluminium should be combined with a small amount of water and mixed to a light cream paste consistency. Mix this paste with a small amount of Selectasine Metallic Binder and then add more Metallic Binder in small amounts until the aluminium paste has dispersed (use 10-20% metallic powder to binder in weight). The self mixed ink can be used for screen printing onto fabric and paper.
The powder can also be used for colouring handmade papers in conjunction with Cationic Retention Aid which helps to bind the powder to the fibres during the paper making process. This silver aluminium powder can be added to resin, or combined with a medium, such as Roberson Ormoline Metallic Paint Medium, to make metallic paints for gilding and painting.
