A further polymer clay from Polyform is Super Sculpey which does not ‘fill in’ after tooling. This is a very special polymer clay, sought out and used by very many artists, doll makers and animation studios around the world. It has a ceramic-like feel; Super Sculpey is available in a semi-translucent beige that, once baked, captures the glow of real skin for ‘one-of-a-kind’ figure modelling and sculptures. After curing in the oven, Super Sculpey can be sanded, drilled carved and painted with water-based acrylic paints.
The clays are also chosen for mould making; from these further Sculpy models can be created Sculpey Souffle is an new lightweight clay perfect for jewellery making! Its strength and ability to hold detail makes it an excellent clay for advanced techniques nad is used in mokume gane, bargello and caning. The baked clay is with a suede finish strong and self-supporting and doesn’t crack in large pieces which makes it great for larger clay projects.
The Polyform clays are recognised as children’s products as they are phthalate and lead free. They carry the CE mark, indicating that they have been evaluated by a toxicologist and have been tested to conform to the European Safety of Toys Directive, EN 71.
