The Louet S17 is great value wheel and perfect for learning the art of spinning a yarn. This budget spinning wheel has been designed with simplicity in mind. It has a single belt bobbin drive with an adjustable flyer brake to regulate tension (making it easier to learn on), and also suitable for spinning thicker yarns (unavoidable as you learn to spin, but great for chunky knits!).

This double treadle version of the Louet S17 spinning wheel is supplied with a Lazy Kate, and 3 bobbins which have three whorl speeds/ratios: 1:5.5, 1:7.5, 1:10.5. Louet confirm that all of the Irish tension flyers and bobbins made for the S10 wheel are compatible with the S17 wheel.
The Louet S17 spinning wheel arrives flat-packed and needs self assembly. It is made from made a high grade birch plywood; unfinished to keep costs down and to pass the savings on to the customer – perfect for painting, waxing, varnishing or staining to your own taste. All wooden parts are sanded so you can add your finish before constructing and using the wheel.
