Ashford Rigid Heddle Loom – weaving width 40cm (16 inches)
An affordable, portable rigid heddle loom ideal for use as an introduction to weaving. The loom is quick and simple to set up and can be used to create unique woven fabric for garments and soft furnishings, tapestries and wall hangings, and includes a built-in second heddle option for multi-shaft weaving. Made from Silver Beech hardwood the loom is very strong and robust.
This loom has holes drilled in the bottom of the rails so that it can be used as a warping frame for the indirect warping method. The Rigid Heddle Warping Pegs (which include a set of 14 pegs) are available to order separately.
Some benefits of indirect warping are the flexibility to use one thread of one colour, it saves space, provides even warp lengths and better tension control. The approximate maximum warp length for the 40cm (16″) loom is 4.7m (15.5′).
The loom includes a built-in second heddle option, a 7.5 dpi (30/10) nylon reed, a step by step instruction booklet, 2 stick shuttles, 10 cardboard warping sticks, a threading hook, and a warping peg and clamp.
