The Venne weaving yarns offered on this website are available in a large choice of repeatable colours and in different sized cones. They include GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) Cotton yarns. This means that the production of the yarn, from growing the fibres through to the processes used to spin and dye it, including labelling and distribution, have been carried out to a specific environmental and social standard. In addition, there is Cottolin (a 60% cotton and 40% linen blend), a fine wool yarn, and a metallic polyester yarn for highlights and experimentation. The Venne Colcolastic offers a yarn for creating collapse weaves. Colcolastic is a fine cotton weaving yarn twisted with an even finer thread of Lycra. The yarn weaves as a regular cotton and creates a stretchable, collapse weave when woven and then washed.

The selection of wool yarns include Ashford DK Yarns, and a choice of wool yarns from West Yorkshire Spinners yarns spun in their factory in Keighley. There are also the useful 80% wool and 20% nylon rug yarns, and the fine Venne Organic Merino wool yarns.

Many of the above yarns can be used as a warp as well as a weft in weaving. When choosing a warp, the most important consideration is that it is strong enough not to break when weaving. George Weil offer a choice of 4 cotton warps starting with a fine Nm 20/6 (12epi) through to a heavy Nm 12/24 (4epi) plus two linen warps Nm 10/6 (6epi) and wet spun Linen Nm 6/6.
