This hemp yarn is made from a 100% organic hemp fibre. As it grows naturally in the wild, this cellulose fibre does not need pesticides or fertilizers and can regenerate growth up to 3 times a year. Hemp is a super fibre! It is strong, hypoallergenic, biodegradable and breathable.
Although the natural colour will affect the final colour results, this handmade yarn can be dyed using Procion MX dyes, Jacquard iDye for Natural Fabrics, and Natural Dyes when mordanted with Aluminium Lactate. The yarn should first be prepared for dyeing by washing in a solution of Synthrapol to remove dirt or grease deposited during production and transit.
Each hank weighs approx. 100g and contains approx. 250 metres of yarn.
