Jacquard Solar Fast dyes are used to create photograms, continuous tone photographs, shadow prints, and ombrès on fabric and paper using sunlight or a UV light source. An alternative method of printing with sunlight is the photographic process of Cyanotype which was used to create blueprints by engineers and to reproduce documents, diagrams and photographs from film negatives. The Cyanotype chemicals, potassium ferricyanide and ferric ammonium citrate are combined together and transformed into an insoluble blue dye known as Prussian Blue when exposed to UV light.
