Lojan’s newest loom – the Lojan Rigid Heddle Loom offers a wider weaving width than the Lojan Flex looms. Although similar to the Flex rigid heddle loom, the side panels have been adjusted and are slightly lighter, while the depth of the loom remains unchanged.
The Lojan Rigid Heddle Loom has a weaving width of 70 cm (27.5″) and is designed for weavers looking for more width, while keeping the loom compact and practical in use. It includes a sturdy back beam and breast beam to provide a stable warp while weaving, and a built-in second heddle option for multi-shaft weaving.
The loom is supplied with a rigid heddle reed frame with 35 x 30/10 (7.5 dpi) reed segments as standard. The top and bottom bars have been designed to reduce bending, to help keep the segments correctly positioned, and to allow for higher tension.
The reed segments can be swapped out or mixed with different densities of reed segment to create a vari-dent reed to allow for different thicknesses of warp yarns. Each set of 5 reed segments will give you 10cm of your reed width i.e. if you want a 40/10 (10 dpi) reed, you will need to order 7 sets of 5 segments (see below to order reed segments in a choice of dpi).
Make it Yours! The loom is made of unfinished solid Beech and Beech plywood so that you can wax, varnish or paint it to suit your style.
