“Unfortunately, we have to inform you that the launch of our new ball winders has been delayed once again. During our final quality inspection, we found that several components supplied by our vendors did not meet Louët’s quality standards. Rather than compromise on quality, we decided to reject these parts and have them remanufactured.
Following the arrival of the new components and our summer closure, we expect to begin shipping the first ball winders at the end of September [2026]. Orders will be fulfilled first for replacement ball winders, followed by new orders in the order they were received.
Although this has caused a delay, we’ve used the additional time to further improve the ball winder. Updates include a stronger mounting system, an additional safety feature on the shaft, and redesigned packaging to better protect the product during transport.”
A lightweight and compact ball winder made from beech wood with a lacquered finish. This robust little machine has a smooth winding action which allows turning in both directions to create centre-pull balls of yarn up to 150g in weight. The Louet Ball Winder is an ideal accessory for weavers and spinners with limited storage space.
A clamp is included so that the winder can be clamped to a table top, between 2 and 5cm deep, for added stability when winding yarn.
The Louet Ball Winder is ready to use straight out of the box with no assembly required. Turn the handle steadily, keeping even tension, and follow the yarn guide to prevent tangles. Adjust winding tightness to control your ball’s size and density – loose for a soft, large ball, and tight for a firm, small one.
