Linen yarn spun from weaving factory yarn remnants. The skeins are hand spun on drop spindles by Indian co-operatives which empower women to earn a livelihood. Each hank of these special recycled yarns is unique; there is slight variation in the amount of twist and colours may vary between off white and natural. The yarn is hairy and quite coarse but flexible enough for knitting (use size 4-5 needles), crochet or weaving. It can be dyed using Procion MX fibre reactive dyes and the base colour should be taken into account as this will darken or muddy the final colour.
Each hank of this Recycled Linen Yarn is approximately 100g and contains between 40-45 metres in length.
